Evaluate Yourself

Before we start here, you do not need to take this personally. My intention is to inform and show you where your spiritual growth is with God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Most Christians feel that they are Spiritual Parents when in reality they are Spiritual Infants and Children. That does not mean they do not love God, Christ, or the Holy Spirit, it simply means that they are replacing devotion with works. In other words they do a lot of things for the Kingdom, but because of their busyness, they miss out on those intimate and divine appointments that God gives them when they intentionally set aside time to meet Him in His Word (the Bible) everyday. I want you to be honest with yourself and with God as to where you are in your spiritual growth and your relationship with God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

In 1 Corinthians 3:1-3, Paul is talking to the Church in Corinth (but to us now), when he says, "Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly—mere infants in Christ. I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men?" Back then (and even today), many Christians believed that they had arrived (were entitled, so-to-speak) because they accepted Jesus in their hearts and lives. Doing this is just the beginning of the journey with Christ and if you deny yourself, take up your cross daily and follow Christ, you will begin to bear fruit and grow spiritually.

I'm going to define each stage of the Spiritual Growth Diagram. I will also give you the characteristics of each growth stage. Do your best to identify where you are at right now. Know that it is possible that you could have the same characteristics in three growth stages at the same time. If that is the case, start at the lowest stage to grow and strengthen your spirit. Remember a chain is only as strong as the weakest link. That applies here very well. If you truly want to please the Master, then become more spiritual by doing spiritual things. (Reading the Bible, Praying in Faith, Fellowshipping with Believers, and Witnessing to the World). You are not here by accident, God has led you here, right now and right here.
